I believe we can do a better job of creating a stronger local business economy. We need to work to attract and retain more primary employers in Colorado Springs, so we can provide more opportunities for our citizens. By stimulating economic development in Colorado Springs, we can create a broader base of jobs that can both attract and retain young people. There are some things we can do to invigorate our local business climate. One way is to look at other communities in Colorado who are thriving and find out what are they doing. Then we need to ask ourselves why we aren't doing as well? Both the City and Utilities can play a larger role in attracting and retaining businesses to our community. The goal is to create a vibrant economy that ensures everyone living and working in Colorado Springs has the opportunity to thrive and be successful. |
