Over the last few years, we have seen the young leaders in our community begin to take a more active role. With organizations such as the Chamber’s Rising Professional, the Young Professionals and the Leadership Pikes Peak NOW class we have a group of young leaders ready to commit to our community.
I have had the pleasure of being a mentor to three Rising Professionals over the last 4 years and I’m committed to continue to work with the young leaders in our community and give them a voice at city hall. These young professionals are our future and deserve our time and attention as they evolve into the leaders of tomorrow.
We need to work hard to create and provide jobs for these young people and to provide opportunities for them to thrive in our community. We need to understand what they want from their local government and to listen to their ideas about what they want our city to be. They are our future and they deserve a seat at the table where decisions are made for our city.
