Attract, create, and retain the jobs we need

Jobs are the answer to revitalizing our local economy. Attracting, creating and retaining local jobs is the win/win solution for citizens, the economy and local government.

Attracting jobs: Bringing in new businesses, especially headquarter operations, creates jobs for the people of Colorado Springs. Studies show that when a company moves here, 93% of the job openings are filled from the local market. The City needs to use the tools in its toolbox to work with others to help find and bring new businesses to our city.

Create jobs: The city supports both the Small Business Development Center and the Colorado Springs Incubator where new businesses are created. Investment in homegrown businesses holds great potential for our community and new jobs. We should support the organizations that provide the tools to start a business locally.

Retain jobs: The city has a role to play in supporting our local business community to help them succeed and thrive. We need to streamline regulations and city operations to help our local business community succeed. And, we need to support the Buy Local Campaign recently put in place by the EDC.
